The call for applications is now open for this award, which recognizes the work and efforts of the Spanish food sector.


The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Food, and the Environment announces the 30th edition of the Spanish Food Awards . The objective of this initiative is to recognize the actions carried out by professionals, organizations, and companies involved in the food chain, their work in technological innovation and investment, national and international marketing strategies, as well as actions that promote the dissemination, awareness, and promotion of our food and gastronomy.

This long-standing award recognizes the work of professionals in the Spanish agri-food and fishing sector through eight categories:

1. "Alimentos de España Award for the Food Industry": recognizes the trajectory and actions related to production, processing, technological innovation and investment, the use of local resources, the development of marketing and promotion strategies, and sustainability.

2. "Spanish Foods Award for Organic Production": designed to recognize actions related to biodiversity conservation and environmental protection, the promotion of rural development and local resources, and technological innovation, resulting in the production of quality products based on organic production methods.

3. "Spanish Foods for Internationalization" Award: designed to recognize the efforts of food companies, organizations, or associations to access, develop, and consolidate their position in the international market.

4. "Spanish Foods Award for Fisheries and Aquaculture Production": The aim of this award is to contribute to the promotion of fisheries and aquaculture products and improve their image and market position. Consideration will be given to the company's track record, as well as the socioeconomic relevance and innovative nature of the product.

5. "Spanish Food Communication Award": Aimed at highlighting communication work related to the nature, production, processing, marketing, environmental friendliness, properties, nutritional value, and cultural and gastronomic aspects of Spanish food.

6. "Spanish Food Award for Restaurants": seeks to recognize restaurants located in Spain or abroad that promote the use, presentation, innovation, and effective use of Spanish foods in gastronomy.

7. "Extraordinary Spanish Food Award": Its purpose is to give extraordinary recognition to a person, company, entity, or organization when they encounter outstanding or sustained circumstances related to the production, processing, marketing, distribution, and promotion of Spanish foods.

8. Runner-up "Spanish Foods for Entrepreneurial Initiative": This award recognizes the work of recently established Spanish food industries that stand out for their application of innovative approaches to production, processing, and marketing, and for the valuable and recognizable participation of young people and women.

Public or private companies, entities, individuals, or legal entities may participate by completing this applicationform . The deadline for submitting applications is October 30, 2017 .
