The Local Action Group (LAG) Associació per la Gestió del Programa Leader Ripollès - Ges - Bisaura presented La Tartana on July 18th. It is a food truck whose objective is to promote and disseminate mountain cuisine and products from Ripollès, the Ges Valley, Orís, and Bisaura, while also encouraging tourism in the area. La Tartana is scheduled to travel to various Catalan towns until the end of this year.

La Tartana began its tour at the Avellaneda Sports Development Center in Ripoll, Girona, where it presented dishes prepared with lamb, goat, or foal meats, cheeses, and breads. It will also visit fairs and events in Catalonia and meet with students from the Ripollés Hospitality Classroom. These students will gain additional professional experience with a view to their career prospects.

The trend toward valuing local products requires culinary students to have a more precise understanding of the entire process, from production to the plate. Future professionals, both in the field and in the kitchen, are the young people currently in training.

One of the objectives is to promote the habit of consuming local products in a natural and everyday way. To carry out this awareness-raising effort, La Tartana will visit schools as part of the "Territorio Educador. Nos de comer los valles" project. This kitchen on wheels will be brought to schools and will showcase local products. Activities for children will be held there in collaboration with the schools.

The Ripollès - Ges - Bisaura Leader Programme Management Association is one of the 11 GALs spread across rural Catalonia selected during this period to implement and develop the Leader methodology within the framework of the 2014-2020 Catalonia Rural Development Programme.

The Tartana will visit the towns on the following dates:
