• In total, 10 regional meetings will take place in October 2022 under the title "Advancing Women in the Agri-Food Sector."

The National Rural Network promotes female rural leadership through a series of in-person meetings throughout Spain.

Rural women have been and continue to be a driving force behind rural life. Despite this, they suffer from double discrimination that has kept them invisible: first, the stigma surrounding the gender gap, and second, their belonging to a rural area.

For this reason, the National Rural Network (RRN) has proposed supporting rural female entrepreneurship through in-person conferences throughout Spain, organized by its Regional Antennas team . There will be a total of 10 regional meetings aimed at fostering an exchange of professional and personal experiences among rural women representing cooperatives, associations, and rural entrepreneurs. They also seek to promote entrepreneurship and leadership, serving as an inspiration to those who want to live and develop their activities in rural areas. Representatives from the agriculture, livestock, and agri-food sectors will be present at these conferences.

The cycle of The “Advancing Women in the Agri-Food Sector” meeting will feature the same keynote speakers as the conference participants: rural women who develop various valuable projects in their territories.

Many of the events will be held at higher education institutions, so that the example of these women can serve as inspiration for students and address any doubts and questions they may have.

Likewise, and to disseminate the work of these women, the RRN will publish several news items, podcasts, and profiles on the companies or initiatives launched by these women through its communication channels ( website and social media ).
