The Murcia Department of Water, Agriculture, and Environment has designed an online "Field Notebook" to facilitate monitoring compliance with agro-environmental commitments made on agricultural farms.

The Director General of Agricultural Funds for the Regional Ministry, Carmen García Frago, presented the new software application to agricultural organizations, which aims to gradually replace the traditional paper-based monitoring system.

García Frago highlighted the advantages of this new system, such as its greater ease of use and the time savings for farmers by unifying the various aspects of their farms into a single logbook: work, phytosanitary treatments, diagnostics, fertilization, planting, harvesting, among others. The new telematic system also represents an advantage for the Regional Ministry, as it allows for improved farm monitoring.

It is estimated that between 15,000 and 20,000 farmers could adopt this new system. Its implementation would be voluntary, as those who prefer to do so could continue using the traditional paper method.

The Ministry of Water, Agriculture, and the Environment held a technical workshop on "Smart Farm Management: The Field Notebook" at the Integrated Center for Agricultural Training and Experience (CIFEA) in Torre Pacheco. The workshop was aimed at farm management technicians, farmers, and other industry professionals.
