Professional guides will accompany visitors on starlit nights and on outings to enjoy the birds and paleontological heritage of this region of Teruel.
July 28, 2016
The Gúdar Javalambre Tourist Association, in collaboration with the regional government of this area of the province of Teruel, has planned more than 20 activities so visitors can experience the natural wonders of the area and enjoy experiences such as three routes guided by a paleontologist to learn about the world of dinosaurs, a bird-banding workshop, and two birdwatching sessions led by an ornithologist. The Constellation Route continues, reaching 15 municipalities this year with observations accompanied by an astronomy tourism guide and two astronomy workshops for children.
The success of the "Astroviajeros" project over the past two summers has encouraged the Association and the region to collaborate again to offer activities that showcase some of the area's great tourist resources. Thus, its sky, paleontological heritage, and ornithological diversity have been selected because they are little known, despite also being highly valued by visitors, as they demonstrate Gúdar Javalambre's natural wealth and its excellent state of conservation.
These activities fit in with the type of tourism the region offers: high-quality, low-consumption tourism, where the trip becomes an opportunity to enjoy, relax, and learn in the heart of nature, with activities suitable for a variety of profiles (families with children, couples, groups of friends, tourists, people with second homes, residents from other areas of the province, etc.).
Calendar of activities
On July 30th, a bird-banding workshop will kick off the program in Manzanera, followed on the 31st by the first "Paleosalida" in El Castellar. In August, the first stargazing night of the Constellation Route will take place on the 4th in Rubielos de Mora. The same events will be held in Mora de Rubielos on the 8th, in Mosqueruela on the 9th, where an astronomy workshop for children will also be held, on the 10th in Albentosa, on the 11th in Torrijas, on the 12th in Linares de Mora, and on Saturday the 13th, two municipalities will offer birdwatching: San Agustín and Manzanera.
