On October 5 and 6, the 7th Exchange of Experiences in the LEADER Cooperation Territory took place in the towns of Móra d'Ebre, Flix, and Valls (Tarragona) to promote the "COWOCAT Rural" project.
The Inter-County Consortium of Socio-Economic Initiatives (CIS) acted as the host LAG. This project aims to develop a methodology to promote coworking in rural areas. The COWOCAT Rural cooperation project has already been underway, bringing together all the Catalan LAGs, and is now planning to become an inter-territorial and transnational cooperation project.
The meeting on October 6 and 7 was attended by LAGs from the autonomous communities of Galicia, Castile and León, and Aragon, as well as representatives from a French LAG.
The National Rural Network is launching these LEADER Experience Exchanges in the region, with the aim of directly connecting Local Action Groups (LAGs) interested in jointly implementing a cooperation project, to facilitate its implementation and preliminary organization.
During these two days, participants had the opportunity to learn firsthand about coworking experiences from public initiatives at the Zona Líquida space in Mora d'Ebre, and from private initiatives at the Espai La Magrana in the town of Valls. They were also able to hear firsthand about networking experiences between coworking spaces, learn from the ongoing experience in this field in Catalonia, and observe the synergies between coworking spaces in urban and rural settings.
Furthermore, each participant was able to express the current situation of the issue in their region, its specific characteristics, and their aspirations for the cooperation project. Finally, a participatory process was held, through which the meeting participants were able to lay the groundwork for future cooperation.
