The CAP Network organizes the “Exchange of experiences between Operational Groups and Innovative Projects” in the wine sector
The meeting brings together Operational Groups, innovative projects and stakeholders in the sector to promote knowledge transfer and innovation in the agricultural environment.
The event is part of the CAP Network's cycle of exchanges between Operational Groups, innovative projects and other agents in the agricultural innovation ecosystem.
Innovation is a key driver for strengthening the competitiveness, sustainability, and future of the agricultural sector. In this context, Operational Groups (OGs) and innovative projects play a fundamental role in generating and transferring knowledge applied to agriculture. To this end, the CAP Network promotes forums that foster the exchange of experiences and shared learning among the various stakeholders in the agricultural innovation ecosystem.
The CAP Network held the "Exchange of Experiences between Operational Groups and Innovative Projects: Wine Sector" event on April 8th and 9th, in person, at various locations throughout the Catalan wine-growing region. Specifically, the meeting took place on April 8th at VINSEUM in Vilafranca del Penedès (Alt Penedès region, Barcelona), and on April 9th at Castell de Falset in Falset (Priorat region, Tarragona).
This meeting is part of the cycle of knowledge exchanges designed by the CAP Network to promote cooperation, the transfer of results and the creation of networks between innovative projects linked to agriculture and livestock, focusing on the wine sector, a strategic area for many rural areas.
Program
The event brought together members of Operational Groups of the “European Innovation Partnership for Agricultural Productivity and Sustainability” ( EIP-Agri ), those responsible for innovative projects and other agents in the agricultural sector, such as research centers, companies or cooperatives, with the aim of sharing experiences, solutions and good practices developed in different territories in the wine-growing field.
Through direct exchange, the visibility of the results obtained has been enhanced, as well as the establishment of synergies between projects with common challenges.
During the first day , held in Vilafranca del Penedès, the role of regional Operational Groups in Catalonia as a tool for promoting agri-food innovation was addressed, as well as the contribution of networks and clusters such as INNOVI and VITIS CLIMADAPT . Several Operational Groups also presented their projects, including GO PRERIVID , GO ALGAVID , GO CARBONFLOW , GO VITIREGENERE , and GO PlantaVid , whose presentations led to discussions and participatory activities among the attendees.
The program was completed with field visits to innovative projects, which allowed for practical knowledge of the application of solutions in the vineyard, such as the GO SOLARWINE projects at Bodegas Torres , and LIFE Vineyards4heat , reinforcing the transfer of knowledge in a real context.
During the second day , held in the Priorat region, in Falset, the project presentations continued with the participation of GO UBAVIDA , GO TECNOBARRICAS , GO New Traditional Catalan Distilled Spirits from Brisa ,GO Wines and Wineries of Jiloca , and GO Biodiversity . These presentations were complemented by a tasting and olfactory experience based on wines and results derived from some of these projects. The day concluded with a visit to the facilities of VITEC – Wine Technology Centre- where participants were able to learn firsthand about its lines of research and innovation projects linked to the wine sector.
These kinds of meetings highlight the value of cooperation, the exchange of experiences, and applied innovation as drivers of development in the agricultural sector. Through the CAP Network, Operational Groups and innovative projects find a space to share knowledge, generate synergies, and continue building the future of the wine sector.
