The Alto Bernesga Biosphere Reserve, within the framework of the SERVISFERA Project , is organizing a beekeeping course on May 5, 6 and 7, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. , in La Pola de Gordón.

The training will be taught by the Iberian Honeybee team, professional beekeepers with experience in sustainable practices, and is aimed at people over 18 years of age interested in getting started or strengthening their knowledge in the beekeeping field.

The course will cover key topics for responsible apiary management, including:

Disease control in beehives

Legislation applicable to beekeeping

Naming and packaging of bee products

The SERVISFERA Project aims to raise awareness of the wide range of ecosystem services that nature offers us, and what better way to do so than by promoting the sustainable use of natural resources within the Reserve through a practice like beekeeping.
This economic activity helps contribute to rural revitalization , combining tradition, local economy and environmental conservation.
