SETELECO has set the goal of providing 5G training in 5,005 rural towns with populations under 1,000 through an online and in-person course.
- The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation is providing 5G training for local authorities with populations under 1,000.
- The course is aimed at technicians from local entities and municipalities working in the field of telecommunications network deployment and installations.
- Courses begin on September 26 and end on December 15, 2022.
The "Spain Digital Agenda 2026" promotes 5G technology in municipalities with fewer than 1,000 inhabitants.
The Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan (PRTR) states in its Component 15 that one of the main obstacles to installing 5G in the territories is the lack of or partial understanding of the legal framework that governs network deployments, the required documentation, and the deadlines and response times.
This situation occurs more frequently in smaller municipalities or those that lack sufficient administrative support.
That is why - within the framework of the Strategy for the Promotion of 5G Technology - the Secretary of State for Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructure (SETELECO) has established 5G training in rural areas as an objective for 2022, all within the scope of the PRTR.
