The Cantabrian companies Agroambiente, Invar, Campoberry, Bodegas Sel D'Aiz, Ruvaltejada, Orulisa and the Ruijas-Ebro Irrigation Community, together with the collaboration and support of the Plant Production and Health Section of the Ministry of Rural Environment, Fisheries and Food of the Government of Cantabria, make up this Operational Group, whose scope of work initially focuses on vineyards, blueberries (and other small fruits), as well as potatoes and forage corn.

Agroambiente and Invar, which lead the aforementioned Operational Group, have developed a project for the implementation of a smart agriculture system, which includes monitoring, management and integrated handling of crops , using technologies based on low-cost sensors , artificial vision and component manufacturing with 3D printing as differentiating elements with respect to other existing solutions.

The main objective of the project, which falls within Rural Industry 4.0, is the development of a platform or intelligent agent that allows farmers to receive phytosanitary warnings and alerts, optimizing the resources and treatments needed to combat pests and diseases that appear during the different phenological stages of crops.
