The Executive Committee met again to review the Network's activities, receive information on the international forums in which it participates, and discuss and decide on new proposals for action and new members of the participating bodies.
The attendees began by reviewing and presenting the activities carried out by the NRN since the last Executive Committee meeting held in July. During this period, 16 meetings have been held, and 34 new activities are planned through June 2017.
The activities carried out within the European Rural Networks were also presented, highlighting, within the framework of the European Partnership for Agricultural Innovation (AEI-Agri), the need to enhance outreach to better understand the projects and their implementation.
The participants presented the actions carried out by the Working Groups (WGs) and explained their current status. The Working Group for Interterritorial and Transnational Cooperation reported on its ongoing efforts to reach a voluntary agreement for a common procedure. The Working Group on Good Environmental Practices indicated that it continues to successfully identify and compile proposals for good practices for the agricultural, forestry, hunting, and tourism sectors and hopes to finalize and publish its work early next year.
The Working Group on the Economic and Social Situation of Mountain Areas in Spain is planning a new meeting for early 2017 to share the various sections developed and then edit and lay out a Guide for the Governance of Mountain Areas.
The presentation of the proposal for a new working group on beekeeping transhumance, pending review for approval, along with the confirmation of the new groups approved at the meeting held in June, were the final topics discussed in the Executive Committee's Working Groups section.
The Network Management Unit provided information about the system of indicators for monitoring and evaluation that will be applied to actions within the framework of the National Program, as well as the upcoming development of a NRN communications plan for the 2014-2020 period.
The incorporation of four organizations as members of the Assembly was approved: the Spanish Association of Merino Breeders (AECME), PEFC-Spain, FSC Spain, and the Savia Foundation.
