The restoration work on the land affected by the massive fire represents an investment of €125,000 and meets the objectives of reducing erosion risks and the risk of forest pests and diseases resulting from the fire, as well as restoring the forested area while balancing all social and economic interests and the conservation of the natural environment.

The work carried out includes preparing a 70-hectare plot of land for reforestation, work on trails and structural work for forest restoration and management, the construction of three ponds or watering points for wildlife, and the removal of burnt wood logging debris, along with other actions for pest and disease prevention and control.

The work carried out is part of the series of initiatives that the Ministry of Agriculture, Food, and Environment has been carrying out in collaboration with and supporting the Autonomous Communities, in the areas of hydrological and forestry restoration and the fight against erosion and desertification. These initiatives are eligible for 53% co-financing from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD), within the framework of the National Rural Development Program.
