The Forestry Focus Group is meeting for the first time to seek innovative, productive, and sustainable solutions to the main challenges in this area, within the framework of the European Partnership for Productive and Sustainable Agricultural Innovation (AEI-AGRI).

The Focus Group meeting took place on September 29 at the headquarters of the Directorate General for Rural Development in Madrid. The meeting included contributions from GFF members on the status and assessment of the economic sustainability of the timber sector; improved genetic material; the valorization of young cork oak forest production; and the mechanization of extraction. Topics related to forestry improvement; fire prevention; and the utilization of wood products were also discussed. They also addressed issues related to pests and various diseases; resin extraction, resin training, and improved sap marketing.
GFF participants also raised questions on forestry and fungi; beekeeping and beekeeping services; networking for the future; and technological, organizational, commercial, and R&D innovations, as well as priorities for the formation of operational innovation groups.
