The Municipal Institute of Environmental Management - Royal Botanical Garden of Cordoba invites you to attend the Technical Conference "Ecological connectivity in the Cordoba countryside. Restoring nature in productive agricultural landscapes: innovation, sustainability and opportunity" , which will take place in Cordoba, on June 3 and 4 at the IMGEMA headquarters, Royal Botanical Garden, Avenida de Linneo, s/n., Cordoba, according to the attached provisional program.
The Project for the Improvement of Ecological Connectivity in the AP01 Pilot Area of the Cordoba Countryside, developed by the Regional Ministry of Sustainability and Environment of the Andalusian Government, in collaboration with IMGEMA – the Royal Botanical Garden of Cordoba, aims to diversify the landscape and improve connectivity in the Cordoba countryside through the implementation of green infrastructure in agricultural systems. This includes conservation vegetation elements such as hedgerows, isolated trees, and riparian woodlands or plantings in areas bordering crops, as well as structures that provide opportunities for wildlife and erosion control measures in gullies.
These ecological restoration measures are being implemented on 12 agricultural estates in the countryside of the municipalities of Córdoba and Castro del Río, in a total of 3,000 ha, thanks to the commitment of their owners and managers reflected in the signing of Collaboration Agreements with the Ministry of Sustainability and Environment, thus creating bridges between agriculture and conservation.
